Is It Safe To Come Out Yet?

For my music homework at school I had to come up with a song that meant something to me and present it back in whatever style I wanted to.  This is the end result. I thought I would share it with you too.

Some of the badgers are the pictures I took in North Wales and some are from the internet.

Please stop the cull Mr Paterson.

  1. That's a powerful video Findlay, it gets the message across perfectly. And I'm not afraid to say that it brought more than a tear to my eye!
It's just a shame the subject was there for you to pick in the first place!
I hope you've sent copies to Cameron and Patterson and the rest of their cronies? Well done Findlay, I hope someone out there takes note.

  8. Well done young man, a well presented emotive and effective video....

Unfortunately our politicians have shown themselves to have neither heart nor sense, and the slaughter of this Delightful, important and supposedly protected creature goes on....

  9. One of my favourtie songs (great choice) the lyrics are perfectly in time with the video clips, Brian May (and myself) could/should take a leaf out of your book, this was twenty times better then his hashed up attempt at a protest song, if I was the teacher I would grade that A+.
I've also subscribed to you mums youtube channel so any other videos Findlay put them on there, for me :o)

  10. You never cease to amaze me Findlay. Not only is this an extremely powerful work, but it is very professionally presented by yourself, and beautifully produced. I too was reduced to tears by this. This should go global, and your effort might just win the fight - it certainly deserves to! I hope that it is brought to Brian May's attention.

  32. Hi Findlay, I think this is great! Well done. I work for the RSPCA and wondered if you would mind me sharing your video on our education Facebook page?

I would be great to know how old you are and what school you go to as well, so we can give you all the credit.

  33. Felt the tears in my eyes, a brilliant video Findlay, this should have a world wide audience. What an inept and heartless Government we have in this country to permit this to happen.

  35. HI Finlay What a very professional video your have made for your homework. It tell the story well. The lyrics suit the photographs very well, the shots themselves are excellent, overall TOP MARKS. Now as other have said,I hope the right people can see this video and perhaps you have to see that they do. The people that can make changes to this terrible culling at present NEED to see it and respond. I will watch anyting you do in future with great interest. You are a young man with fantastic vision in the natural world. Congratulation.

  40. Wow Findlay that is a powerful message. You should send it to Paterson and Cameron and maybe they might feel some guilt.

I found watching it quite emotional and maybe a tear or two which I am not ashamed of at 70.

  41. Findlay, I'm almost 72 years old and, like Derek Moore, I watched this through a veil of tears that I am utterly unashamed of. So often I reflect on the fact that so many young people seem unwilling to confront sufficiently realistically the problems affecting out wildlife, globally as well as nationally. Your video and approach filled me with more optimism than I can remember in recent times and for that I thank you profusely. You may not realise the gift you have, my young friend, but please pledge that you will always use it to secure better circumstances for wildlife for which you obviously have a very great interest and perception yourself. I feel happier this Sunday night than the last one, or even the one before, in the knowledge there is someone out there who understands and can communicate the problem. Thanks.

  42. Hi Findlay, I'm 64 and must admit had a tear in my eye to, but I am cheered up knowing that a young man like you is on the side of Wildlife. Nice to think of you as you grow up helping Wildlife.

Excellent presentation Finlay let the Govt see this they should be ashamed for what they are doing to our wildlife who have been on this planet before them and will continue well after that have gone

  45. Hi Findlay. I missed this when you first posted it as I was away. Glad I found it though! This is impressive. I have worked in nature conservation for the last twelve years or so and it is one of the most effective campaign pieces I have seen. A simple and stark message.

  46. Hi Findlay, I often have a look at this badger blog and so does everyone I know. Do you remember the paralized one we found and Grandpa and you stayed with it until the RSPCA came to take it away. It gave you and Harley a really good chance of seeing a badger close up. we never heard what happened to it.

    Grandma.
